Head of Sales - Medical Supermarket

The Company

Medical Supermarket is a leading supplier of medical consumables to both the public and private health and social care sectors. As part of its continued growth strategy, the business partnered with Stone Executive to recruit an experienced Head of Sales. The successful appointment was tasked with driving commercial growth, developing and implementing effective sales strategies, and establishing new sales channels to expand the company's presence across existing and emerging market sectors.

The Challenge

This was a particularly challenging brief, as the client was seeking an individual with a proven track record of developing sales channels across the primary care sector, while also possessing the ability to motivate and lead a team of sales professionals to drive revenue through a combination of existing account growth and new business development. Furthermore, the successful candidate needed to be a hands-on sales leader, capable of leading from the front while delivering commercial results and inspiring high performance across the team. 

The Outcome

Following extensive target research and market mapping, Stone Executive employed a combination of advertised selection and targeted headhunting to attract candidates of the highest calibre. Whilst our primary methodology is direct headhunting, we also utilised advertised selection to increase the volume of candidates available from across the healthcare sector. Given the remote nature of the role, it would have been challenging to identify and directly headhunt every suitable individual.

Our targeted headhunting approach enabled us to focus on industry-relevant candidates who were already successfully employed and performing at the level our client was seeking. This was complemented by the advertised campaign, which broadened the talent pool and ensured a comprehensive search across the market.

After presenting a strong shortlist of suitably qualified candidates, our client was confident in making a job offer, successfully concluding the assignment.
