The Role

Established over 80 years ago, our client have become synonymous with manufacturing some of the very first flaking and roller mills used by agricultural feed and breakfast cereal food producers in over 145 countries. They are now looking to appoint an experienced, sales- focussed business leader to oversee the day-to-day running of the company, assuming full  P & L accountability, whilst ensuring that the business continues to identify new areas to support continued growth.

The position will oversee both the production and maintenance side of the business, whilst still assuming full responsibility for increasing sales revenues by identifying new areas for growth across allied sectors. The role will form part of the senior management team and will report directly into the Chairman.

Our client would be looking for somebody with a strong sense of career mobility, and would expect that the opportunity to gain equity in the company could be achieved for the successful candidate.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will already be working for another, well-respected, manufacturer or supplier of specialist equipment used within the agricultural or food sector, preferably within a Sales or Sales Leadership capacity. In addition to this, candidates will also be considered relevant for the position if they didn’t have specific industry experience, but still had experience of overseeing a similar high-risk machinery business with a proven track-record of delivering growth.

The successful candidate will possess good man-management skills with the ability to inspire others to work at the highest levels, whilst been an ambassador for the company with both clients and key stakeholders. The successful post holder will need to have strong communication and leadership qualities, and will naturally be a sales leader with the ability to think strategically and the conviction to capitlise on business opportunities.

A mechanical sales engineering background would be preferred, but a proven track-record of delivering sales growth within a similar environment would also be just as relevant.
