The Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer of handling equipment for global aviation and transportation ground support is now looking to appoint a dynamic Managing Director of Sales, to oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, whilst simultaneously playing a significant role in helping to increase sales growth.

In the role of Managing / Sales Director you report to the European parent Board, and will be responsible for formulating, propagating, and implementing the strategy, which is aligned with the goals and activities that arise from the organization. As Director you are also responsible for generating sales yourself and managing the full profit and loss. Being commercially active within the key accounts is essential. Furthermore, together with the Operations Director you will actively manage the organization and its employees. You will inspire, motivate, and challenge the employees acting as a figurehead for the organization, both internally and externally.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the team, activities, and processes. Moreover, drafting, executing, and monitoring the strategic and tactical plans making use of predetermined budgets as well as facilitating future growth from strong leadership. Optimising the sales activities is a key function of this role. You are the driving force behind the generation and realization of sales, which means you are commercially active yourself to achieve the highest possible for company and its partners. Additionally, you ensure the creation and maintenance of an inspiring culture and a dynamic organization.

  • Hands on leader with strategic capability. 


Job requirements

  • Degree/HND qualified, preferably in a technical or business-related discipline. 
  • At least 7 years of experience in a similar sales and managerial position.
  • Work experience in the international business arena.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the ground aviation/transportation industry would be desirable. 
  • An inspiring and natural leader who motivates people.
  • Strongly developed analytical skills, eye for the market and able to translate this into operational management.
  • Speaks fluent English.
