Managing Director - Health & Social Care - LD & Supported Living

Our client, a well-respected, national social care charity, is now looking to appoint an experienced Director to oversee one of their portfolio companies across the South Wales and West region. 

The role will oversee a portfolio of social care services, which comprises of circa 250 service users with Learning Difficulties and Complex Care requirements, within both residential and supported living services. The role will also support the company's 300 staff, and senior management team to deliver exceptional levels of quality care, overseeing a Board of Trustees, and forming part of the charities wider management team. 

Our client would be looking to appoint somebody with a strong sense of career mobility, and would expect the successful canddiate to be able to assume a wider managerial position with the charity in the medium to long-term. 

The ideal candidate will already be working for another well-respected, larger social care provider currently, either within an Operational or Regional Management capacity, or maybe working within a senior Director capacity for a smaller charity or social care provider, and would like to the chance to be able to work at a more strategic Board level. 

In addition to this, candidates will have a strong operational social care background, having managed a number of care services for service users with Learning Difficulties or Complex Care, and will possess strong leadership and commissioning experience. The ideal candidate will have worked with a Board of Trustees previously, or have reported directly into one, and will have the ability to effectively communicate and execute corporate strategy. 

The ideal candidate will be a 'hands on' team player, who places the service user and staff at the heart of decision making. The successful candidate will have sound commercial acumen, with a proven track-record of managing a similar care portfolio or region in terms of financial P & L accountability.
