General Manager - Industrial - Industrial Textile & Leather Manufacturing

Our client, a well-respected, family-owned manufacturer, within the field of industrial leather products, is now looking to appoint an experienced General Manager to oversee the full operational manufacturing remit of the company, to both improve efficiencies of manufacturing performance, whilst simultaneously steering the company into continued periods of sustained growth. 

The position will oversee the full operational performance of the company, which will assume full P & L responsibility for the running of the company, managing production staff teams, adhering to and implementing appropriate ISO regulations, HR policies and procedures, and ensuring that the company is maintaining and exceeding KPIs. The role will form part of the senior management team, and will report directly into the family. 

Due to continued growth plans, our client would be looking to appoint somebody with a high degree of career mobility, and would expect the successful candidate to be able to assume a more senior Director level appointment in the short to medium term, with the opportunity to gain equity potential. 

The ideal candidate will already be working within a senior Production or Operational Management capacity at the moment, either demonstrated within the field of Textile, Leather or FMCG manufacturing, although candidates from across the wider industrial manufacturing sector will be still considered relevant. 

The successful candidate will preferably have worked within a low volume, high-quality manufacturing environment, and will have experience of managing staff and production teams collaboratively, whilst still maintaining a 'hands on' leadership style of management. Candidates will have a good understanding of running a manufacturing company, or large manufacturing department in terms of P & L accountability, and should possess strong commercial acumen and attention to detail. In addition to this, candidates who have undertaken lean manufacturing projects, and recent experience of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards would also be desirable. 

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years experience demonstrated within a similar manufacturing environment, and will have a proven track-record of autonomously overseeing a quality driven manufacturing process with a strong track-record of business growth.
