The Role
  • Ensuring planning production schedules are accurate and up to date, and meeting on time delivery targets
  • assessing and managing resource requirements
  • Ensure all teams are taking action to reduce defects, whilst working within Conveyor Unit’s problem-solving framework
  • Ensuring the business is operating in an organised and safe working environment
  • Setting and reviewing each team’s metrics
  • Overseeing preventative maintenance for all equipment
  • Determining quality control standards
  • Overseeing production processes and ensuring teams are working to the best current methods
  • Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
  • Ensuring the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
  • liaising with buyers, planning, contracts and other departments
  • Supervising the work of junior staff
  • Organising relevant training sessions
  • Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
  • Help establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
  • Work to leader standard work and ensure Supervisors and Team leaders are following theirs
  • Coach team leaders and supervisors in lean and continuous improvement principles
  • Attend daily management stand up meetings
  • Coach problem solving and improvement actions and ensure each team are identifying problems and eliminating root causes
  • Perform 1 to 1 reviews with all direct line reports
  • Review Production KPIs on a daily and weekly basis
  • Conduct daily process walks to help coach and identify improvement opportunities
  • Oversee production and output to plan across the production facility
  • Ensure that all teams are implementing core lean tools (5S, TPM, Problem Solving, Flow, Kanban)
  • Action daily escalations and ensure tasks are completed on time
The Candidate
  • 3 years’ experience in a leadership position.
  • Awareness and open-ness to Lean thinking.
  • Strong people management skills in order to lead, develop and influence others
  • Good problem-solving experience
  • Experience leading in a no blame culture – focusing on the process.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and work within Conveyor Units Lean System
