The Role

To maintain in confidence all medical records, correspondence and information pertaining to its patients according to hospital policy and procedure.

To promote constructive relationships with all Hospital colleagues.

To observe the statutory legal requirements as laid down in the Mental Health Act 1983,Revised Mental Health Act, the Code of Practice, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation.

To support and promote high standards of evidence based clinical practice within the service.

To input formal psychological therapy training as per agreed programme.

To arrange and undertake and deliver personal supervision for clinical work as directed within a model to be agreed with line manager.

To maintain Records of supervisions in a confidential but not exclusive manner as per hospital Practice.

To manage Junior Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists.

The Candidate

To carry a clinical caseload as agreed at the clinical team meetings with identified treatment plans and the administration of psychological orientated treatment tailored to the needs/problems of the patient group.

To confer with other members of the Hospital staff regarding the needs of patients, goals of treatment and progress made.

To assist in the carrying out of clinical risk assessments in liaison with the clinical teams  including Child Risk assessments.

To comply with any reasonable request with regard to gathering demographic/Benefits based data.

To communicate effectively with the clinical teams and Commissioners to ensure that patient’s needs are met.

To communicate with Relative’s and carer’s as required and directed.

To maintain records, preparation of reports and correspondence related to the work for MDT,MHRT and CPA ensure CPA minutes are produced and available 3 weeks prior to CPA.

To visit and assess patients for placement as directed producing reports for the hospital management within 5 working days.

To assist in the developing, delivery and staff understanding of Plans of care with psychological aspects and ensuring junior staff complete this task also.

To provide ad-hoc support and supervision to staff members at request of  Senior Management and advise Senior management on support mechanisms going forward.
